Yamaha have told me to send it back to the online retailer but they're not interested as it's over a year old and although it comes under the Yamaha 2 year warranty, Yamaha won't deal with me direct.

There are some videos on youtube from Andertons Music along with Julian fra Yamaha that goes into some depth about the new models. There are three new models the THR-10X, focusing on heavy gain metal amps, the THR-10C with more bluesy low gain amp models, and the THR-5A for acustic gitars. It's all in a grab-and-go bag, very easy to take along. The little bugger sounds just awesome and is plenty loud enough for that use. I just set it all up on the little side table and it's perfect for playing while sitting on either a chair or a bed. Didn't know there is a gig bag fot it? I put the amp in the gig bag, put the gig bag in the back pack along with four pedals, and I have a small light weight fold-up camping side-table. I have a nice mid-sized nylon backpack, and the Yamaha amp gig bag. I got it expressly for travel and playing in motel rooms or the guest room when visiting relatives.

Does yours auto shut off if you crank it too hard when on battery power? I have a brand new set of batteries in it, and with some settings, it trips off at times - as if the batteries can't supply enough instantaneous peak current and it senses it as a weak or dead battery condition. A couple questions for those that have them. The bass has to be EQ'd way down or it's too much. It's got a quirk or two, but overall a great little piece of gear. Initial impressions after a few hours of messing with it are very positive.
